MEET THE FOUNDER
Joseph Ambulai Massaquoi
Before Joseph ever touched a dialysis machine, he was a teacher.
He taught history and government in Sierra Leone/West Africa before moving to the United States in 2014 and finding his way into a different kind of classroom — one set in the living rooms and kitchens of patients learning to do dialysis at home. Since 2015, he has worked in dialysis across multiple organizations including Atlantic Dialysis, DaVita, and Fresenius Medical Care. In 2022, he transitioned to home therapy, and today serves as a PCT III Preceptor at Fresenius Medical Care in Maryland — training patients, caregivers, nurses, and technicians in home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
What he noticed over those years was a gap. The clinical training existed. But the honest, human side — what the first month really feels like, what caregivers actually carry, what it takes to go from terrified to confident — was largely missing.
Home Therapy Insights was built to fill that gap. Because Joseph believes knowledge builds confidence, and confidence creates freedom — not freedom from kidney disease, but freedom within a life that still belongs to you.
